The idea: one place to decide when things happen (the timeline), see where they stand (the boards), and keep the routines that hold the rest together (habits). Mood tracking is optional, as a way to see how your energy relates to what you get done.
The daily loop
- Plan, in the morning. Pick today's tasks, starting with what's already in progress, and drop them into time slots. Your habits are already there.
- Do, during the day. Work from the Today screen: tick things off, move cards along, see what's next.
- Review, in the evening. See what got done and, if you track your mood, log how the day felt. Anything unfinished comes back to your tray the next day, so nothing gets lost.
Reminders and notifications can nudge you at both ends of the day and when something you planned is about to start (see below).
Today
Today is your home screen. Across the top you see how many tasks are planned, how many are done, and your habits for the day.
- Quick add: type a task in the box at the top and press Add. It goes to your tray of unscheduled tasks. More options opens the full form (notes, deadline, objective, duration).
- Timeline (left): today hour by hour, with your scheduled tasks and habits.
- Side column (right): what's in progress, the unscheduled tray, and today's habits.
- Use Week and Tomorrow to plan further ahead.
Scheduling tasks
- Drag a task from the tray onto the timeline to schedule it. It snaps to 15 minutes, and a label shows the time as you drag.
- Drag a block to another time to reschedule it, or back onto the tray to unschedule it.
- Tasks that take longer than an hour fill more than one hour on the timeline. Set the duration in the task form.
- Without dragging (for example on a phone): type a time next to a task in the tray and press Set.
- Prioritize the tray: drag tasks up or down, or use the arrows. Tasks in progress always come first. The tray and the boards share the same order, so moving a task up in one moves it up in the other.
- Start a block: press ▶ on a scheduled task when you begin it. It moves to In progress and its block is marked as started.
- Unfinished tasks carry over: a task scheduled on an earlier day that you didn't finish comes back to the tray, marked with the day it was planned for (for example "From Oct 9"). Give it a new time or drag it onto the timeline.
Tracking where things stand
The Board shows every task in four columns: To do, In progress, Blocked and Done.
- Move a card by dragging it, or with the dropdown on the card.
- Reorder a column by dragging a card up or down within it, or with the arrows on the card. Done stays in the order you finished things.
- Blocked cards ask what's blocking them. Write down who or what you're waiting on, and the card shows how long it's been blocked. After three days it turns red so stuck work stands out. Moving the card out of Blocked clears the note.
- Moving a card to Done completes the task, and completing a task moves it to Done.
- Filter by objective with the chips at the top. Done shows what you finished in the last 7 days.
- With more than three tasks in progress, you'll get a gentle nudge to finish one before starting another.
Objectives and subtasks
- Objectives group related tasks, for example a project, a client or a goal, with an optional deadline and a progress bar.
- Each objective has its own list and board; switch with the List / Board toggle.
- Tasks don't need an objective. They show as "No objective", and you can assign one later in the task form.
- Subtasks: choose a parent task in the task form. Subtasks stay inside their parent's card as a checklist.
- Updates: add a dated note to an objective whenever something moves ("sent the proposal, waiting to hear back"). They're listed newest first on the objective's page, so you keep a log of how it went.
Habits
- Create a habit with a time of day, an optional duration, and the days it repeats (every day by default).
- Habits appear on your timeline on those days. Tick them off on Today or on the Habits page.
- Drag a habit on the timeline to change its time on every day it repeats.
- Notes: once you tick a habit off, you can add a note to that day, for example a game score or how a workout went. Click a habit's name to see its history with every note.
- Streaks only count the days a habit is scheduled, so a weekday habit isn't broken by the weekend.
Reminders and notifications
On your Account page you can turn on a morning reminder to plan your day and an evening one to review it, each at the hour you choose in your time zone, by email, notification or both. They're off by default, emails only go to a confirmed address, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
Turn on notifications on each phone or computer you use, and the app tells you when a scheduled task is about to start, when it's time for a habit, which tasks are due today, and when a task has been blocked for 3 days. You choose which ones you get. On iPhone and iPad, add the app to your Home Screen first (Share, then Add to Home Screen) and turn notifications on from there.
Mood tracking (optional)
- Turn it on from the Moods page or your Account page. Because mood entries can reveal health information, we ask for your consent first.
- Log how you feel in one tap from the check-in on Today. From 5 pm it becomes an evening check-in.
- For more detail, use Detailed entry: intensity, energy, stress, focus, what contributed (sleep, caffeine, exercise and more), a tag and notes.
- Insights show your patterns, including how your mood compares on days when you complete tasks.
- Turning mood tracking off on your Account page deletes all your mood entries.
On your phone
Every screen works on a phone. On a touch screen, tap a task and then tap the timeline to schedule it, or tap a block to move it. On a phone the board shows one column at a time, with tabs to switch. Dragging cards still needs a mouse, so there you move or reorder them with the dropdown and arrows on each card.
Your data
From your Account page you can download everything as a PDF or JSON file, or delete your account. Read the Privacy policy for the details.
